Support in doing the things mentioned in 12-14-09’s posting, especially avoiding stress and getting enough rest. She won’t need anyone looking over her shoulder as far as diet and exercise, she’s quite motivated in that area and also knows the importance of the occasional splurge!
Julie's Current Needs
When asked about her current needs, Julie said it would be very helpful for Jackson to be invited out occasionally, for anything as simple as spending a couple of hours playing at someone else’s house, or being included in a trip to a park or to the Kroc Center, nothing elaborate or extensive is needed. This would certainly benefit Jackson, which is Julie’s focus, but it would also help Julie to have an hour or two to nap/read a book/clear her mind, and upon his return home to have a happy (and maybe even tired!) child rather than a bored and restless child. Jackson is too young to understand the seriousness of his mother’s illness, which is a blessing, but it also means that he continues to require the level of attention and interaction that any typical four year old requires. (There is evidence that stress reduction promotes healing, and that stress itself is linked to cancer recurrance!)
